Do you have stories to tell? Not sure how to tell them? Try writing the blues! No need for any prior music experience! Kenneth Jackson, renowned blues musician, will walk you through the creative process for putting your story into the form of lyrics for a blues song. Not only will you hear Kenneth Jackson play and sing, you'll also hear fascinating stories and history of the blues. This collaborative class is for everyone – no prior experience of any kind is necessary. Previous participants have described this six-week class as 'simply a lot of unexpected fun!'
Classes occur on Tuesdays from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, October 4th- November 8th, at the North Branch Library, 1192 Vollintine Ave. This Senior Studio Course is offered by Creative Aging in partnership with the Memphis Public Library system.
